今日（６月2日）は、高校のクラスの同窓会があり、出席予定。高校の同窓会は、高校を卒業してから約２０年後に第１回が開かれ、その後は５年ごとに開かれていたが、昨年の会で、私たちの歳で毎年開かないと会えない人が多くなる(既に５０人中３人が逝去)とのことで、今年も開催される。
私の場合は、小学校のクラスの同窓会（これは卒業後４０年くらい経って２度目を開いたが、その後は３年に１度くらいのペースで開催）、と大学の同窓会（研究室と同期の会が年に１度ずつ）がある。
これらとは別に、WISCONSIN大学日本人会の同窓会が、毎年開かれていて、懐かしい。アメリカのWISCONSINのMadisonという美しい大学街で過ごした日々（私の場合は１年間）が懐かしく、そこで過ごした日本人が年に１度集まるというもの。私も１度だけ参加したが、時期は違っても、同じ街やそこの大学で過ごした経験があるという共通点だけで、いろいろな人が集まり、語り合えるというのは素晴らし。今年もその会が東京で開かれる。
